Did Norwegian Cruise Lines NCL Terminate Business Relationship With YTB. Click Here.
I just read that Norwegian Cruise Lines (NCL) terminated business relationship with YTB. A friend of mine that's in YTB shared this with me and decided that this may be the last blow that he can take, as far as continuing his business with YTB. I've shared with him how great the TraVerus travel opportunity is and that we are accredited to book with all vendors, but his loyalty to YTB wouldn't let him look outside of the box. I don't know if this would change the minds of anyone else in YTB or looking into joining YTB, but don't be like my friend and let pride blurry your vision.
"Click here" for the article I read about NCL terminating its relationship with YTB. I'm sure after reading you will want more information. I would advise that you speak with your upline or the person whos business you are debating of joining. Maybe it won't effect you that Norwegian Cruise Lines terminated business relationships with YTB, but I thought you would appreciate knowing.

Is YTB A Good Company?
Is YTB a good company? This question has been a topic discussed over and over but who has the answers? Who really knows if YTB is a good company or not?
YTB may be good for particular people but it isn't for me. I'm sure you're saying to yourself "Well, who are you to be putting down such a great company"? That is the typical response I receive when giving my personal opinion on is YTB a good company or not, but, notice...I never said it wasn't. I am merely giving reasons as to why YTB is not the choice opportunity for me.
$499....in todays economy? Let's move on.
If you are looking for a home business for the long haul, residuals is where you should be focused. At $2 per person (and this is after several people have joined your organization), don't look forward to retiring soon...especially after reading opinion/fact #3 above. Many people dream big of getting those $1000 bonuses but fail to realize how many people must actively be in their organization to get it. After your organization has made the company about $3000 - $6000, I've always wondered where the rest of the money goes after the active reps are paid these hot bonuses.
Well, obviously I have other opinions as to my thoughts on is YTB a good company because I'm sure what i just mentioned is not strong enough for many people to consider investigating themselves. I use other sources such as www.MLMWatchdog.com and www.NOTravelMLMs.Blogspot.com for educated evidence toward seperating the facts from hearsay. Not too mention, majority of my mentioned opinions is documented on YTB websites but sadly, most active reps that I've spoken to don't know where to find it.
I had a true desire to find a company that suited my needs for travel and residuals.
A company that.........
1. Was not in legal trouble,
2. Paid obviously more in monthly residuals per person in your organization
3. Was a real hosting agency where you can become a real certified travel agent.
4. Allows me to positively advertise my business to generate clients and business partners.
5. Has all travel credentials and recognized to do business worldwide.
6. Allows me to book with all the vendors for my clients.....
.......and much more. Like I've said before...YTB may be a good company for some, but after being a part of the travel company I have my hands on now, I don't see any equal. If you are the least bit interested in a travel business that has been a blessing to myself and many others, fill out the form below and I will gladly give you all the information you need. If you require further documentation to the opinions I stated above, feel free to ask. After I have satisfied all of your needs, maybe then you will be satisfied fully in your own opinion of "Is YTB a good company".

1. YTB has no Iatan credentials.
Some feel this is no big deal but what if your dentist said he lost his dentistry credentials but would still like to perform your root canal?2. YTB is no longer recognized by Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Marriot and a few others.
Imagine setting up a huge fundraising cruise for your church, then later to discover that they prefer to choose Royal Caribbean.3. The investment of an RTA with YTB is $499.
Sure you can get started as a free rep....but how will you benefit?$499....in todays economy? Let's move on.
4. YTB affiliates are no longer allowed to advertise their business online.
How can you tell me I am a home business owner, yet I can't advertise my business. So....am i really in business?5. YTB is a referring company only.
Can I really be a travel agent with a referring company or will I save more time getting a free site with Travelocity? At least they will let me market my business online.6. YTB is not international.
I have relatives in other countries that are looking for opportunities.....how can I help them?7. YTB has a few legal issues.
Not only are they being sued by AG's of different states, but, by their own reps....Yikes!8. YTB is all over the internet.
The only problem is.....it's saturated with negativity. I mean with all the good reps marketing online (well, when they were able to) why is it that whenever I type YTB "anything" in the search engines...I'm blasted with negative search results?9. YTB reps don't really earn "retirement income".
Well not the average YTB rep. The fact of the matter is, the top 3% of YTB reps (Directors and beyond) make mind blowing salaries but the average active rep (77% which equates to 44,926 reps) made less than $100 in the entire year of 2007. The highest salary earned of the average active reps was $19,000.00.....most people make that now on their jobs so what's the big hoorah about $19,000.00?10. YTB pays $2 residuals.
YTB pays $2 residuals?.....shall I repeat that or does it pretty much speak for itself? If you are looking for a home business for the long haul, residuals is where you should be focused. At $2 per person (and this is after several people have joined your organization), don't look forward to retiring soon...especially after reading opinion/fact #3 above. Is YTB A Good Company
After The YTB Lawsuits, YTB Lays Off 25 Workers.
Have you heard that after the YTB lawsuits, YTB lays off 25 workers? A good friend just shared this with me and it came as no surprise. Lay offs coming from a company that "sold" dvd's about being "recession proof"? Rumors run deep, but "click here" for validated facts. It's hard to take that your JOB is laying off but how does one take that the network marketing company that they have dedicated their lives to......has laid off some its corporate employees?
The writing has been on the wall for months and because some are so lost in emotion, they continuously tell others that YTB is the greatest thing since sliced bread, just to get them to pay their hard earned $499 and be apart of their downline. What I don't get is, these laid off employees were working regular 9-5 jobs and were in no relation to the home based business owners. This would be the final clue I would need to start weighing my options. There comes a point where yo must slap your own self in order to wake up and see whats really going on around you.
Read this comment from the article............
The man said that ever since the California Attorney General's Office filed a lawsuit against YTB in early August that claimed the company was operating a "gigantic pyramid scheme," company officials have been telling employees that "everything is fine."
................. sound familiar. Isn't this the same thing that the uplines have been telling you? Things have been going further downhill since the YTB lawsuits and it's even affecting the corporate staff. If YTB laid off 25 of their internal staff what do you think will happen to you?
There comes a time to release the pride and think of yourself and your families. Don't wait to get fired before finding an alternative. The YTB lawsuit and YTB lay offs is just the beginning.......where will your destination end?
"Click Here" to read the updated news where "YTB Lays Off 17 and not 25".........still shocking numbers after the YTB lawsuits.

Traverus VS. YTB Comparisons After The YTB Lawsuits.
There have been a lot more TraVerus vs YTB comparisons after the YTB lawsuits, leaving some people clueless as to which is a legitimate home travel business. I personally feel that there is no comparison because in order for there to be one....shouldn't there be "competition?" I will do something different from most and talk about the company that I believe in without discussing the cons of another. Grab a pen and piece of paper and lets get started.
Here are a few things that I feel are important in choosing a home travel business.
I can go on but I will stop here but you can surely call me personally for more information.
Now that you've written all of this down, share what you have written down with,
A. Someone that is already in the travel industry
and
B. Someone ready to get started in the travel industry, but they need more information.
When you share the information, simply ask them........
"Which one of these topics would be a requirement for you when looking into travel agencies?"
If they can agree that half of these meet their satisfaction, wouldn't that be a good thing?
If they can say all of these meet their satisfaction, wouldn't that be a GREAT thing?
I hope you're ready to make a decision quicker than they are because whoever you show this to, may be ready for more information on getting their home business started. What would happen if you passed this opportunity up and your friend contacted you later excited about their new travel business?
If you're ready to make a decision, don't join the company......join me and we will take this to the top together. I will share with you all the business tools that I have used that has helped me replace the income from my fulltime job. I will also share with you a powerful online marketing tool that is free to use....and I will personally help you with your online marketing.
Feel free to contact me today and I hope this has helped you and cleared up a few questions you may have had of the TraVerus vs. YTB comparisons after the YTB lawsuits.

Here are a few things that I feel are important in choosing a home travel business.
1. A real hosting agency
This reassures me to know that I'm involved with an experienced brick and mortar travel agency....not just a referring company.
2. Real certified agent training
Our director of training, Lori Speers, has years of experience in the travel industry and she is teaching us how to do things the right way. Her weekly calls and email access, makes it easier for me to enjoy this business.
3. International
We are doing business in over 90 countries and counting. I know people in other areas of the world and I'm now able to share my business and services to them.
4. Duplication
I was able to pay the monetary investment and follow the leaders towards success...but can you? This company has solved both of these issues.
5. IATAN status
We are fully IATAN accredited and able to book travel with no boundaries. Many say IATAN doesn't matter and that's a false statement.
6. Residual income
I got into this business to enjoy travel and also for the long haul with residual income. I now enjoy waking up when I want...and not to an alarm clock.
7. Commissions @ 70% and above
This makes me want to book more travel and enjoy the true commissions.
8. Member Trips
I'm able to take all inclusive cheap vacations month after month.
9. Condos
I once considered buying a time share but now there is no need. This business makes it possible to stay in condos all over the world for as low as $100 for an entire week. WoW!
10. Travel wedding registry
The most greatest bridal registry for travel I have seen. Imagine having your clients wedding trip or honeymoon paid for.....and you receiving a nice commission.
This reassures me to know that I'm involved with an experienced brick and mortar travel agency....not just a referring company.

YTB Sued? California Attorney General Edmund G. Brown Jr. has sued (YTB) YourTravelBiz.com
YTB sued by California Attorney General Edmund G. Brown Jr. as reported on 5 August 2008. I received this information a few hours ago from a friend of mine, whose cousin just invested $499 to start her business with YTB in April of this year.Seems as though Tracy (my friends cousin) was very disturbed by the lawsuits against YTB, having just started her legitimate home travel business and asked my friend what does she think. I'm not affiliated with YTB, but with my friend knowing that I am affiliated with TraVerus Travel, she thought I might know something.
My first reaction was WOW!!!!!!!!
Lawsuits against YTB???
YTB sued???
First the investment is not duplicatable for many with todays economy issues, then the IATAN status and now this? I hope that everyone affiliated with YTB gets this information very quickly. I have nothing against YTB or it's affiliates but I hope the truth of this matter gets into their ears and that they have 100% of the information before they make any hasty decisions. I wish them well with their home business but honestly, no one can erase the writing on the wall by writing over it again.....it only smears it.
My next thought was the timing. What I mean by that is California Attorney General Edmund G. Brown Jr. has sued (YTB) YourTravelBiz.com ONE day BEFORE the YTB convention and ONE day AFTER TraVerus released our new website.........which I might add is HOT!!! :)
How will this news of lawsuits against YTB effect the convention? Is one day enough time to prepare for the thought of "YTB being sued"? Lets hope that things are resolved in a timely fashion for the YTB reps that are trying hard to preserve their business. Are Traverus And YTB Work From Home Travel Business Internet Scams?
While wondering are TraVerus and YTB work from home travel business internet scams, have you done your due diligence by checking all the available resources? When discussing the topic of "scams", one cannot go by hearsay alone. Do I think TraVerus and YTB are work from home travel businesss scams.......of course not. Both of these work from home businesses are legit travel companies that have been shared across the internet with both good and bad reviews.
My suggestion would be to talk to several people before investing in any work from home travel business to see if it's right for you. I looked into YTB back in 2007 and you can click here to read my blog on a few reasons I would not join YTB. It's not because I felt it was a scam, it just was not for me. I got started with TraVerus Travel because I loved the idea of receiving 70%-90% of all commisions booked by me or on my website and also the tax write-offs. The compensation plan is just the icing on the cake, especially the monthly residuals. ;)
I would also suggest that you do some exploring on the internet to find out about any company before you invest your hard earned dollars. Find out if the business is duplicatable, marketable and in demand. I researched both companies at MLM Watchdog to see what others had to say about the companies. Choosing the right work from home travel business is not an easy one to make but once you find the one for you, it can generously change your life for the better. I wish you success in your quest and hope I have given you some insight to the questions about are TraVerus and YTB work from home travel business scams.

Are Traverus And YTB Work From Home Travel Business Internet Scams
Investing $500
What could investing $500 do for you right now? Many people would think....pay a bill or two, a car note and for some they would apply it to their rent. That kind of money in todays economy is kind of steep for the average family to let go of. Investing $500 from the household is peanuts to some, but this amount taken away from the average income family one time could be a direct effect of falling behind on bills. While most people were waiting on their tax rebate check status to fill in the void, others were trying to figure out what jobs pay the most just to earn an additional $500 a month.
Well this was my situation a while back. I'm an avid Madden Football player on PS2. Well when the PS3 came out, you know I had to have it right? I needed the new upgraded console for better graphics. Well guess what...the PS3 I wanted with the 80 gb hard drive was $499 (no games included and one controller). Sure I was able to afford it at the time, but why spend what I don't have to without at least checking around first. My next plan of action was to shop around for a better deal. Lo and behold, after searching and talking to people, I was able to get the 80gb PS3 that I wanted and it came packed with 2 wireless controllers and 3 games. Though I was excited and ready to pull out my wallet my question was..."Whats the catch?" The guy in the game store said "There is no catch, luckily you shopped around and found the same product for less and was able to get additional incentives that you weren't getting at that other stores $499 price."
So now just like a kid, I'm sharing with friends where they can make that same investment that I made and not spend their hard earned $500...when they can get much more for less. We have "Madden Tournaments" from time to time and sit back and laugh at the day we almost mishandled that $500 investment .

Thanks for taking the time to read my "opinions".

Franchise vs. MLM
What are some differences of a Franchise vs. MLM? Both seem to possess the same qualities of selling products worldwide...right?
This is part 1 of a "?" part subject. :)
Let's review first......
Franchise.......
Examples
MLM.........
....also known as Network Marketing is a business distribution model that allows a parent multi-level marketing company to market their products directly to consumers by means of relationship referral and direct selling.
Examples
Typically when I think of franchises, I think of store fronts, restaurants etc. The 5 examples I listed for franchises are actually of the Top Ten Franchises for 2008 (listed at Entrepreneur.com).......8 of those 10 being restaurants. Franchises can also be very expensive. True, you can make a lot of money with a franchise, but, one can surely obtain a lot of stress and debt with loans and upkeep costs. Other examples of franchises can be nail salons, barber shops, flower shops etc. All of which are great investments, but most cannot start OR maintain a franchise for that matter because of loans, bad credit, past bills, etc. That's not to say it can't be done but for the majority, the path can be a struggle.
When I think of MLM (or network marketing), its somewhat the same but different in other ways. With MLM, there are no huge investments as compared to thousands of dollars invested into a franchise. One of my mentors told me before..."If you get started for a few hundred bucks and it doesn't work...what have you really lost?" MLM works depending on the company.
Robert Kiyosaki and Donald Trump (2 franchise owners) recommend network marketing in their book titled, "Why We Want You To Be Rich". You can also research the internet and view videos with Robert Kitosaki explaining the mlm model.
My bottom line....if you can afford a franchise and that's what you want to do...by all means go for it. I would advise you talk with current franchise owners and your city/state ordinances for educated information. If you're like myself and would like to pay a minimum investment and receive maximum rewards, take a look into the mlm arena....you may be surprised. :). When I chose to take a look at the TraVerus Travel mlm model, it turned out to be the best decision I could have made. You can "click here" to find out more about TraVerus Travel and see if it's the right mlm business model for you as well.
Good luck in your research in finding the truth of Franchises vs. MLM.

YTB Franchise? YTB Considers Franchise Operations
YTB Considers Franchise Operations and now the question is....what will a YTB franchise mean for the rta's?
I'm sure many people will take this as me bashing YTB or discouraging people from joining but that's not my intention. I am merely stating facts that many may not be aware of.
Click here to see the source of the facts, but I'd also like to share my input.
A few months back when YTB lost its IATAN credentials, many ytb reps had no idea. There were a lot of reps that just signed up that stated , "If I had known this upfront, I would have saved my $499". Now you may be saying, what does this have to do with anything? Well.....once again, you're hearing the truth before it is covered up. Once again, uplines will stay quiet and keep you in the dark as to whats going on. What will they do to cover up the truth this time? In the first line of this article...........
"In a surprising and controversial move that could end the era of multilevel marketing, Scott Tomer, CEO of YTB International, Inc. said the company is “contemplating the replacement of its referring travel agent (RTA) business model with the implementation of a franchise operating system, potentially in 2009.”
I see a cover up as to really say, "Hey rta's...we are nicely saying get out now while you can." Have you seen the Titanic? Will you be one of the 3 bandmembers or will you look for a life boat early and save yourself and your family? This is not to ridicule any of the reps but you have to be realistic also. Egos and walking blind paths will not keep your lights on. Think of your investment and where its headed.....would you bet on a 3 legged horse in a 4 legged race? Of course not. Remember when the telephone company back in the 90's got rid of the networking arm and kept al the customers? DO THE RESEARCH PEOPLE!
Losing the IATAN credentials and vendors seemed to be no big deal to Power team leaders that were recruiting like crazy...Why...because credentials and vendors being lost doesn't stop the 1k bonuses coming in. For someone "really" in YTB to "really" book travel, I'm sure it was a big deal. So I ask those same big shot recruiters....after reading the article about YTB Considering Franchise Operations...meaning in so many words the networking arm will cease, is it NOW a big deal?
Again, this is not to bash a YTB franchise or any of it's business partners. My thing is this...if I upset 19 people but actually open eyes and save ONE with the truth.........I will feel a lot better! Read the article, "YTB Considering Franchise Operations" and see for yourself.

YTB Lost Iatan Status
"YTB Lost Iatan Status"..........it has not changed. It's amazing to me that people are still not informed of this information and how some are so nonchalant about it claiming "Iatan accreditation means nothing."
Well I feel that for one to be a travel agent , why not have all the tools. Being nonchalant about it proves further ignorance in my opinion. Would you want to go through a life threatening surgery and the doctor "doesn't have" all of the tools?
Would you want to hear him say "I don't have the proper instrument to start the surgery...but it's o.k, we'll manage." That would be a clue to run or get another doctor.
Here is a recent article dated 18 April 2008 from ModernAgent.com
The Travel Agency Commissioner has upheld IATAN's decision to terminate YTB Travel Network's IATAN accreditation based upon YTB's improper use of an IATA numeric code in violation of IATAN's Standards for Accreditation. Specifically, the Commissioner found that the Referring Travel Agents recruited by YTB -- and to whom YTB gave credentials which contained the IATA numeric code -- were "third parties" over whom YTB had no control. The Commissioner's decision thus upholds IATA and IATAN's fundamental property rights in and to IATA numeric codes and makes crystal-clear that no person or entity has the right to provide such codes to third parties.
IATA and IATAN will continue vigorously to enforce their rights, as enunciated by the Commissioner and otherwise, for the benefit of its members, the travel industry, and consumers. This means that YTB cannot use an IATA number for any purpose-as an ID or to qualify for any agent benefits. It may continue to use its ARC number -- ARC numbers are provided by IATA and are the same number as an IATAN number -- but not as an IATA number.

YTB Lost Iatan Status
Join YTB?? Reasons I WOULD NOT!
Join YTB?? Knowing what I've known in the past and what I know now, there is NO WAY I could.
Now these are just MY "opinions" based on written and proven FACTS on the company...no "He Said, She Said" information.
I was approached with joining YTB about a year ago. It was a great concept but the first thing that bothered me was the investment. I think @ that particular time it was like $349, which didn't seem like a good investment @ the time. Later I was approached about travel by a guy in Des Moines Iowa, (Pastor Marcus "PB" Brewer...Mr. Training...lol).....I was hesitant at first until he told me it wasn't about joining YTB, but, it was TraVerus Travel . After reviewing the info thoroughly and comparing to others, I hopped on board less than 2 weeks later.
I have found success with TraVerus Travel , getting started on 1 May 2007, and have NO regrets.
What do I call success....well if I can make what most people make in a year on their JOBS in the same given year...am I not successful? If not...what does that say about the person on the job that probably went in debt for 4 years of schooling...Hmmmmmm.
Ok, that's part of my story and here are a FEW reasons WHY I feel joining YTB to be for me was way off the mark.
1. THE INVESTMENT........This is one of the first thing anyone should look at when looking at a company. Remember when I was turned off by $349? Well now to join YTB it's $499 (licensing fee/1st months website maintenance) to be a RTA (referring travel agent) ...and an additional $149 to become a "Certified" RTA .
Not to mention, you now have to PAY for each additional online travel test.
Hmmmmmm......$499 with a referral company or $149/$349 with a real Hosting Travel Agency.
You do the math.
2. Reps
This may not bother some. I realize a business is only what one makes out of it. But by that same token, I would hate to be an owner of a company of 240,000 business partners with only 40,000 or so (less than 1/4) active. Thats not saying too much about my company. Why the drastically low numbers?? Hmmmmm..whats not right? It can't be that 200,000 people just "couldn't cut it."....no, there has to be reasons WHY!
As of 2/08 numbers, click here.
3. The Marketing Region
Ever wonder why McDonalds and Bill Gates are successful? Well, one of the keys is being able to do business worldwide.
At the present moment when you join YTB, your marketing region is narrowed down to the U.S., Bahamas, Bermuda and after a 2nd or 3rd try... Canada (where they are not even referred to as "Travel Agents" ) Hmmmm!
TraVerus Travel is in the U.S including Canada ....and Over 90 Other Countries..Can You Say WOW!
I think I've covered enough for now....AGAIN these are my personal opinions backed by facts alone and not hearsay.......just some of the reasons why I would not join YTB.

TraVerus Travel says this......to be a RTC (referring travel consultant)...$149 (licensing fee/1st months website maintenance) with various ways to become a CTA or invest $349 upfront, take your certified travel training and testing to become a CERTIFIED TRAVEL AGENT ...not "Certified" RTA.
